Mrs. Tuttle in her work, stated that Mary Moore's father was AndrewJackson Moore and Mother Lucinda Lawton. Anne Townsend of Anne Townsend[anneto@@scccinternet.com] 7/22/03 states that First: Mary was not thedaughter of Andrew Jackson Moore as Helen had stated in her book.Andrew Jackson Moore b 1814 would hardly have been old enough to havebeen the father of Mary b 1825.spouse: Curtis, Edmund Bostwick (1826 - )
Fact: Andrew Jackson Moore was her half brother, his mother was Elizabeth
Curtis, Sylvanus Moore's first wife. Further I don't find any immediaterelationship between Elizabeth Curtis & James Curtis.
Elizabeth had a brother, James L Curtis, b 1788; died 1810; b Curtis
Cemetery, Oxford. His wife was Phebe Purdy b Westchester County, NY; after
James died, Phebe married Beriah Curtis; son of Selden Curtis, a brotherto
Solomon.
These Curtis cousins settled in Moravia, Cayuga County where I live.
Elizabeth's parents were:
Solomon & Sarah Landers Curtis, both born in Litchfield County, CT.
Solomon Curtis parents:
Deodatus & Elizabeth Selden Curtis.
Deodatus b Bristol, Bristol, RI; died in Columbia County, NY
Elizabeth Selden b Hartford County, CT; died in Litchfield County, CT.
Mary Moore's parents:
Sylvanus Moore b 14 May 1771; d 12 Sept 1850
married 19 Dec 1824
2nd wife, Polly Coville b 17 Jan 1790; d 23 Nov 1888.
History of McDonough will verify this information.
I am descended from Sylvanus & Elizabeth Curtis Moore's first child,Eliza T Moore, first white child born in McDonough
