Family picture here This site was created by descendants of Sam and Leon' Colyer of Somerset Kentucky. Sam (1885-1972) was a school teacher, home builder and grocery proprietor. He was raised just outside Somerset Ky. in Ruth Kentucky on Pittman Creek. The photo to the left shows Sam as a young boy sitting on his father's (Charles Grenade) knee in a family photo. His oldest proved ancestor was William Colyar of Washington County TN. Although this site has ancestors of William, they have not been proved by this researcher.
